'Bad Boys For Life' Review

  • Nerdly

Stars: Will Smith, Martin Lawrence, Vanessa Hudgens, Alexander Ludwig, Charles Melton, Paola Nuñez, Kate del Castillo, Joe Pantoliano | Written by Chris Bremner, Peter Craig, Joe Carnahan | Directed by Adil El Arbi, Bilall Fallah

The world of Bad Boys started 25 years ago in 1995, when Will Smith was just Will Smith from The Fresh Prince of Bel Air. It came just after his performance in the movie Six Degrees of Separation, and it was the start of his status as an action movie star. From Bad Boys came movies like Independence Day and Men in Black, and then that was it, he was projected into movie stardom. When we look back, it was the gritty and raw first instalment of Bad Boys that set him on this path. 8 years later came the return of Will Smith's character Mike Lowrey, in the shape of Bad Boys II, a far more operatic version of the first movie.

Will Smith Transforms Back Into the Fresh Prince for a Very Important Reason

Will Smith is back in action as the Fresh Prince of Bel Air! Well, sort of... The 49-year-old actor joined The Ellen DeGeneres Show today where he informed the audience and viewers that he had finally decided to make an Instagram account. So, Ellen DeGeneres—being the proud social media expert that she is—decided to help him with how to properly use the platform. Her instructions included things like perfecting the "duck face," taking photos with babies (which didn't work out so well) and snapping pictures with food. But no Instagram account would be complete without the always-popular Throwback Thursday post. So what did Will do in order to create a...

Five Well Acted Serious Scenes from Fresh Prince of Bel Air

  • TVovermind.com

The Fresh Prince of Bel Air was one of the funniest shows on TV for a while. Will Smith and the rest of the cast were comic gold most of the time, but there were some serious moments throughout the show that took time to reflect on serious issues and deal with very real problems that can be found outside the realm of TV. Some of them were heart-rending and actually made people cry due to the severity of the issues, while others were life lessons that were quite valuable and raised the estimation of the show tremendously. Here are

Bad and boujee: the lifestyle that took over TV

From The Fresh Prince of Bel Air to Insecure via Migos, how the trope is finally coming of age

When Donald Glover kicked off a great year for television at the Golden Globes this January, the soundtrack to his success was obvious: "I really want to thank the Migos," he said as he accepted Atlanta's award for best TV series – musical or comedy. "Not for being on the show, but for making Bad and Boujee. Like, that's the best song ever." The next day, as if to prove the deeply felt sincerity of these comments, footage of Glover getting down to the track at an afterparty turned up on Instagram.

Fresh Prince of Bel Air Bloopers: Will and Carlton Overracting

  • TVovermind.com

Some cases of overacting are kind of funny, such as with the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Of course sometimes they seem to stretch on for an uncomfortably long period of time as the actors drag the moment out, and out, and out as they continue look for the reaction they want. With Will and Carlton it's easy to shake your head and dismiss their overacting as just a part of their personality, a way for them to get a rise of out of people for acting so ridiculous. Sometimes though their costars just didn't know what to think. Their acting

This Is Why Your Favorite Character Was Written Out of Your Favorite Series

2017-08-23T11:35:44-07:00This Is Why Your Favorite Character Was Written Out of Your Favorite Series

Everything seems to be going great for your favorite character one day, and the next he or she is suddenly gone, having been written out of the show for one odd reason or another. Here's the story behind some of TV's most notable character disappearances. Are there other characters you miss? Let us know in the comments below.

1. Susan from Seinfeld

Remember George Costanza's fiance Susan Ross? Her character tragically and comically died in Season 7 after licking all of the envelopes from their cheap wedding invitations. According to Jason Alexander (George) and Julia Louis-Dreyfuss (Elaine), Heidi Swedberg was extremely difficult to work with and Larry David decided to kill her off.

2. Charlie from Lost

If you booked the show Lost, your life would be set, right? Not for Dominic Monaghan.

The Sam Tarly Version of The Fresh Prince of Bel Air Rap

  • TVovermind.com

One of the most interesting things about fandoms is their creativity when they become inspired. For proof, look no further than a thread on the Game of Thrones Reddit, which saw a collection of Redditors writing an impromptu Game of Thrones version of The Fresh Prince of Bel Air rap from the perspective from the character Sam Tarly. While it seems that this will be the end of it for the time being, it is nonetheless an excellent example of the fun and entertaining things that can happen when fans come together under the right circumstances. Who Is Sam Tarly?

'Twin Peaks': 7 Damn Fine TV Homages to David Lynch's Influential Series

It's no secret that David Lynch's original "Twin Peaks" series has had a lot of impact on TV series creators and directors. And while his influence can be seen in the small-town themes, quirky characters, striking visuals and sweeping, cinematic shots that are common today, some TV shows haven't made their love known in oblique ways. Instead, they've paid direct homage through references and spoofs.

From the Red Room and the show's delightful dialogue, dream sequences, owls and colorful characters, "Twin Peaks" offers so much to mine. The show has become a cultural touchstone that has even invaded children's programming. While casual references have been dropped in shows ranging from "The Fresh Prince of Bel Air" to "24," IndieWire has dug through these to find the best and most loving tributes to Lynch's TV phenomenon.

I'm Definitely Starting to Like Will Smith Again after DJ Jazzy Jeff News

  • TVovermind.com

I'm telling you right now that Will Smith reads this site. I cannot prove it but I just know he does. Not even a week ago just a short time after we were still ranting and raving about the Fresh Prince of Bel Air faux reunion, I wrote in an article that I was never really a fan of "serious action hero Will Smith." I still think his best work comes in two forms: When he's 100% humorous or 100% serious. Smith is a great actor but I've never been a fan of his straight up action film work (unless

Will Smith Might Be Battling a Young Clone of Himself in Ang Lee's Gemini Man

  • GeekTyrant

We recently learned that Ang Lee was in talks to direct a sci-fi film project called Gemini Man that has been waiting to be developed since 1997. The technology it would take to bring this story to life has finally caught up and Skydance Media is ready to move forward with it.

THR is now reporting that Will Smith is in talks to star in the film. The story centers on "an aging assassin who tried to get out of the business but finds himself in the ultimate battle: fighting his own clone who is 25 years younger than him and at the peak of his abilities."

So it looks like we will get to see Smith battle a younger version of himself in the movie, which seems pretty cool. Just imagine the present day version of Smith fighting the younger Fresh Prince of Bel Air version. I'm sold! Who wouldn't pay to see that?

Uncle Phil Was Quite "The Hustler" on Fresh Prince of Bel Air

  • TVovermind.com

It's hard to believe it's been nearly 4 years since James Avery passed away. Most affectionately known a Uncle Phil on The Fresh Prince of Bel Air, he was one of the better father figures in comedy sitcoms of the 90s and perhaps ever. But of all the Phil and Will moments on the show, this is one of my favorites. The episode is aptly called "The Hustler." Vivian goes to Berkley for the weekend leaving the kids behind with Phillip. Geoffrey is off duty so Hilary is left in charge of Carlton and Ashley. Will, however, is left in

My Little Pony Gets the Fresh Prince of Bel Air Treatment

  • TVovermind.com

I'm still trying to get over the obsession that is Fresh Prince of Bel Air. I mean sure, it was a solid show. Yes, it featured a young Will Smith who went on to be a mega superstar actor in Hollywood films. But is the show That good? Honestly I think it's the theme song. Seriously. The theme song solidified that show in the sitcom Hall of Fame for memory. Countless media outlets have used their own version of the Fresh Prince song and I would imagine that Smith is still raking it in on the royalties front month after

'Matrix' Mashup: Imagine if Will Smith Hadn't Turned Down the Role of Neo

Everyone knows Keanu Reeves starred in "The Matrix." What this video presupposes is…maybe he didn't? YouTube user The Unusual Suspect has reimagined the Wachowskis' science-fiction blockbuster with Will Smith in the lead role of Neo, as the part was originally offered to the "Fresh Prince of Bel Air" and "Bad Boys" star. Watch below and try not to say "whoa."

Featuring clips from the original film with shots of Smith woven in, the video acts as a trailer of sorts for this alternate-history (or -future?) version of "The Matrix." Scenes from such films as "Men in Black" and especially "I, Robot" are used to create the illusion, often quite seamlessly; it helps that "I, Robot" is another sci-fi/action hybrid that calls on Smith to fire weapons and appear as though

The Moment Will Smith Looked Exactly Like Uncle Phil

  • TVovermind.com

When Will Smith went bungee jumping off of Victoria Falls, the video became an instant viral classic. I decided not to share it simply because it had already made the rounds on the internet and I had assumed all of you had already watched it. Having nothing new to add, I passed. But today I've had a change of heart and for good reason. While flying through the air on his bungee jump there was a moment where Will Smith looked exactly like Uncle Phil from Fresh Prince of Bel Air. It's actually kind of freaky how much Smith and

Since the start of their relationship, Rob Kardashian and Blac Chyna's ups and downs have been made very public.
